Luxury car rental in Malaysia — your questions
17 answers with the actual figures in them. If yours is not here, send it and we will answer it in writing — and probably add it to this page.
Booking and payment
- How far in advance should I book?
- Two to three days is comfortable for most of the fleet. Weekends, the December holidays and the festive periods around Hari Raya and Chinese New Year run tight, so allow two weeks for a specific car on those dates. Short-notice bookings are often possible — call and we will tell you honestly what is free.
- What does the daily rate actually include?
- The vehicle, comprehensive insurance, road tax, and delivery and collection anywhere in the Klang Valley. Fuel, tolls, parking and any traffic summons are yours. There is no booking fee, no administration charge and no airport surcharge.
- Is the rate on the website the rate I pay?
- Yes for the standard terms shown. Rates change when you extend into weekly or monthly territory, in which case they fall. Additions such as a chauffeur, a child seat or an out-of-state permit are quoted separately and confirmed in writing before you commit.
- How do I pay?
- Bank transfer, credit card or cash on delivery. The security deposit is held either by card pre-authorisation or as a separate transfer, and it is returned by the same channel it arrived on.
- Can I cancel or change a booking?
- Cancel more than 48 hours before collection and any prepayment is refunded in full. Inside 48 hours we retain one day's rate. Date changes are free where the vehicle is available on the new dates.
Deposit and documents
- How much is the security deposit?
- It depends on the car: RM 1,000 for standard vehicles, RM 1,500 for sports and performance models, and RM 2,500 for the top supercars. The exact figure is printed on every car page before you enquire, and it is refundable.
- When does the deposit come back?
- Within three working days of return, once the car has been inspected and any outstanding summons window has been checked. Card pre-authorisations are released rather than refunded, so they may take a further few days to clear your statement depending on your bank.
- What documents do I need to rent?
- Malaysian renters: a valid Malaysian driving licence, your MyKad and a utility bill or bank statement showing your address. Visitors: your passport, your home-country licence, and an International Driving Permit if that licence is not in English or Malay.
- Is there a minimum age or licence period?
- Twenty-three for standard vehicles and twenty-five for sports and supercars, with at least two years of full licence held. Probationary (P) licences cannot be accepted on any vehicle in the fleet.
- Can a second person drive the car?
- Yes, once they are named on the agreement and their licence has been checked. There is no additional-driver fee. An unnamed driver voids the insurance entirely, so it is worth the two minutes.
Delivery and use
- Do you deliver, and is it free?
- We deliver and collect free anywhere in the Klang Valley — KLCC, Mont Kiara, Bangsar, Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Subang, Puchong, Cyberjaya and Ampang included. Outside the valley we quote a mileage charge before you book.
- Can I collect from KLIA or KLIA2?
- Yes, at either terminal. Give us your flight number rather than a time and we track the actual landing, so a delay costs you nothing. A driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board.
- Is there a mileage limit?
- Every car includes 130 kilometres a day, 910 kilometres a week, or 4,000 kilometres a month, depending on the length of your hire. Beyond that we charge a stated per-kilometre rate.
- Can I take the car out of the Klang Valley?
- Anywhere in Peninsular Malaysia, yes. Tell us the route so the insurance record is accurate. Entry into Singapore requires written authorisation and an insurance endorsement arranged in advance; East Malaysia and Thailand are not permitted.
- What happens if the car breaks down?
- Call the number on the key fob. Roadside assistance covers all of Peninsular Malaysia 24 hours a day. If the fault is mechanical and not caused by misuse, we recover the car and bring you a replacement of the same class at no charge.
- What if I damage the car?
- Comprehensive insurance covers the vehicle. You are liable for the excess, which is capped at the security deposit for standard damage. Report it at the time — an unreported incident discovered at inspection is treated far less generously than one you told us about the same day.
- Do you offer a chauffeur instead of self-drive?
- Yes, on the whole fleet. Chauffeured hire has a four-hour minimum, carries no security deposit and requires no licence check, which makes it the simpler option for short visits and for anyone under the self-drive age limit.
